The Wimborne Folk Festival 2024 was once again an amazing event, bringing together music, dance, and local culture in a celebration that really gets the entire town going! This year marked the 42nd edition of the festival, showing its significance and overall enjoyment and demand for it in the heart of Wimborne. Its really not an event to miss!

A Festival of Music and Dance

From June 8th to 9th, the streets of Wimborne were filled with the incredible sounds of folk music and morris dancing, creating an infectious atmosphere which makes you want to dance around. There were multiple stages were set up throughout the town, each hosting a variety of performances and we were lucky enough to be right in the middle of it all. There is all kinds of music ranging from traditional folk to contemporary genres, with highlights including the lively dance performances that really do captivate all ages, and if we are honest us as well when watching!

Party In The Paddock: A Musical Extravaganza

One of the standout events during the festival was the Party In The Paddock. This music festival featured an impressive lineup of DJs and live bands, creating an unforgettable experience for festival-goers. Notable performances included those by K-Klass and Brandon Block, who brought their unique styles and high energy to the stage. The paddock was filled with people dancing and enjoying the music, making it a highlight of the weekend and we were proud to have supplied some of our beer to the festival organiser.

Boosting Local Businesses

The festival not only is great entertainment for the people of Wimborne and other local areas but it provided a significant boost to local independent businesses, demonstrating the positive impact such events can have on the community. Our stand at the festival was bustling with activity, and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying our beers. The influx of visitors brought by the festival benefited local vendors, artisans, and eateries, emphasizing the importance of community support for local commerce. This year was no different and if anything we found was busier then previous years, to a point where a couple of local suppliers had to shut their doors early due to selling out!!

Community Spirit and Engagement

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Wimborne Folk Festival was the strong sense of community it creates. People from all walks of life come together to celebrate, creating a friendly and inclusive environment with areas for everyone from young families to the older generation of Wimborne. The festival not only showcased the rich cultural heritage of Wimborne but also strengthened community ties and created lasting memories for all who attended.

Looking Forward

Now that this year’s festival is once again finished, we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a vibrant and meaningful event. The success of the Wimborne Folk Festival highlights the importance of music and community gatherings in bringing people together and supporting local economies. We are already looking forward to next year’s festival and the chance to share our beer with even more people.
